Close observation of nature has always brought me great personal satisfaction.

The process of painting out-of-doors permits me to focus my full attention on the visual details of the landscape and the effects of light on the land.

My search for a pleasing composition and harmonious color combinations is not a precise duplication of a scene but the simplification of innumerable visual elements. When the painting is finished my experience is complete. Plein air painting is my passion.
