Angelina Kendzior, local event planner and artist, found her medium in glass. She has turned, what started as a fun relaxing hobby, into a growing business opportunity. A Glass Hole is local to Utah and showcases all things glass including: stained, slumped, fused and painted. You can catch Angelina’s work at different art festivals around Utah and surrounding states, as well as here at the Leonardo.
Glass art fusion including the jewelry have been fired in a kiln to up to 1700 degrees. Some pieces being fired 2 to 4 times. Each firing can take up to 20 hours before it’s complete.
Firing glass in heat from 1100-1700 degrees it melts into molten and to fuse glass is to join 2 or more pieces together. Each piece is completely unique using heat and gravity to form.
The glass paints are made from the frit and powder of the glass scraps in the studio, the powder becomes paint when mixed with a liquid stringer. The paint is painted on as one of the first steps then goes through the firing process of the individual piece.
If you attend various charitable events in Utah you’ve likely run into Angelina. She is a huge supporter of worthy causes and isn’t afraid to jump in when it comes to making things better for someone else. Ang relishes spending time with her husband, two daughters, her granddaughter & grandson, such a proud Grammy. When she’s not organizing a gala, wedding or some sort of life event celebration for someone else, she’s likely creating a stunning work of art or hiding out at their second home at Bear Lake.
